McCook-McCook blew open tight game with a big third quarter on route to a 34-7 win over McCook on Friday night. The Bison led just 14-0 at the half but scored on its first three possessions of the third quarter to build a 34-0 lead. Jacob Gomez Wilson scored from nine yards out, Adam Dugger fired a 17 yard pass to Lucas Gomez Wilson and Alex Anthony scored from one yard out in the third quarter. In first half, Cozad had the ball four times inside the McCook 40 yard line and failed to score. Trailing 7-0 Cozad fumbled at the McCook one. After Jacob Gegenbach recovered a fumble at the Bison 17, Cozad also failed to score on that possession Dugger had a big night accounting for over 250 yards of total offense and three tds. He had touchdown runs of one and 82 yards in the first half. Tag Sassali scored Cozad’s touchdown with an 11 yard burst late in the fourth. Cozad was hurt in the game with eight penalties and three turnovers. McCook (1-0) travels to Gothenburg next week. Cozad (0-1) will host Central City.
