He was standing outside about 8:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Garfield Boulevard when someone opened fire, striking him in the leg, Chicago police said.

A 17-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Tuesday in Gage Park on the Southwest Side.

The teen took himself to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
