The annual “Light-up Christmas Parade” was held in downtown Lexington late Sunday afternoon. The parade was temporarily halted as Lexington Volunteer Fire Department members tended to a 7-year-old girl.
Lexington Police Sgt. Chad Reutlinger says the preliminary investigation indicates the girl was riding on one of the parade floats when she wanted to get off the float. She apparently sustained an injury after slipping. She was transported to Lexington Regional Health Center where she was treated and released.
The parade resumed to the end after she was transported from the scene.
