Dawson County, Nebraska

Co-defendant released after murder charges dismissed

Charges have been dismissed against the second person charged in the July 6, 2021 drive-by shooting death of 23-year-old Marcus Keyser in the driveway of his home.   Dawson County Attorney Liz Waterman filed a motion Monday to dismiss the charges of First Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony against 21-year-old Adalberto Saenz-Gonzalez.

His co-defendant, 20-year-old Francisco Hernandez-Corona was acquitted of similar charges last week by a Dawson County District Court Jury following a five-day trial.  District Judge Jim Doyle approved the motion Tuesday morning and Saenz-Gonzalez was released from the Dawson County Jail.   Saenz-Gonzalez had testified for the prosecution in Hernandez-Corona’s trial last week.

Saenz-Gonzalez was previously scheduled for jury trial in November on his charges.
