Constance Jane “Connie” Anderson, 81 years of age, of Elm Creek, Nebraska, passed away, on October
7, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Connie was born in Holdrege, Nebraska on September 13,
1941, the youngest of two children, born to Harold and Elvera (Elf) Anderson. She received her education
and graduated from Loomis Public School, with the class of 1959.
On November 21, 1959, Connie was united in marriage to Ward Anderson at Bethel Lutheran Church in
Holdrege, and to this union, three children were born: Perry, Deb, and Bart. The couple made their home in
northern Phelps County where Connie took care of the home and raised their children. Together the couple
ranched and farmed. For over 25 years, Connie shared her love for animals helping Deb at her veterinary
practice. The couple loved rodeos. Ward and his brother put on amateur rodeos and competed in calf roping and Connie was his biggest fan.
Connie enjoyed working in the garden, tending to her flowers and yard. She did many different crafts,
and made many scrapbooks for her kids, grandkids, and was working on them for her great-grandkids as
well. But most of all she enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Elm Creek where she taught Sunday School and
was honored to be involved in various leadership roles. At the church, Connie learned how to quilt and
made dozens of quilts with matching pillows.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marilyn (Fred) Hasbrouck.
Connie is survived by her husband, Ward Anderson of Elm Creek; three children: Perry (Shelly)
Anderson of Elm Creek; Deb (Barry) Littell of Elm Creek; and Bart (Shari) Anderson of Loomis, Nebraska;
nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and
There will be no visitation or memorial book signing. The family is honoring her wish for cremation. A
memorial service for Connie J. Anderson will be held on November 5, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith
United Methodist Church in Kearney, Nebraska with Pastor Venedith Vargas officiating.
A memorial has been established in Connie’s honor, and kindly suggested to the United Methodist
Church in Elm Creek or Elm Creek EMT’s.
