Cozad Community Health System Reveals Phase 1 of Expansion Project

COZAD, NE – Cozad Community Health System celebrated the completion of phase 1 of their expansion project on Wednesday afternoon with an open house and ribbon cutting.

Opening remarks were made by both CEO Robert Dyer, Hospital Board Member Matt Burkholder and Senator Matt Williams.

Phase 1 of the project includes 14 new private patien rooms with negative air flow, two of which are designed for patients of size that include a lift system that is installed in the ceiling.

Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing Tammy McMichael gave a nurses standpoint on the new rooms and how this build will better the quality of care at CCHS.

Dyer explained how they were able to make this expansion happen and what it all includes.

With phase 1 complete, they will start working on phase 2 out of a total of 3 phases.

“This has been a long time coming. I’ve been here 40 years and I always hoped that we would have private rooms. So, to this develop from the beginning… has just been exciting,” said McMichael.

Dyer said, with this project, CCHS’ goal is to provide the best care available to people in their community and keep those in the community at their health system by providing the best quality of care.
