Hall County, Neb. — A Grand Island woman faces charges in connection with elder financial exploitation. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office, acting on information from an FBI investigation, arrested 65 year old Constance Reimers on Wednesday on a Hall County warrant for one count of conspiracy to commit theft by deception and one count of theft by deception, both involving sums of more than $5,000. Both charges are class IIA felonies.
The investigation was initiated by the FBI Elder Justice Task Force from San Diego County, California. Investigation lead the Hall County Sheriff’s Office to believe the case has crossed into surrounding communities and across state state lines. Although some victims have been identified, the Sheriff’s Office suspects there could be more and hopes the arrest will encourage more victims of elder financial exploitation to come forward.
