Hall County Officials Investigating Suspicious Death

According to a Hall County Sheriff’s Department press release, they are trying to clarify some misinformation that is circulating the community of Grand Island and the social media post regarding the recent death of 68-year-old Constance Baasch or rural Grand Island who died on February 28th, 2022.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office says, on Oct. 15th, 2022 deputies responded to 4707 Stoneridge Path in reference to an unconscious female who was reported as a fall victim. The victim was identified as Baasch who lived in the residence alone. It was later determined the injuries Baasch had were suspicious in nature. Deputies began to investigate the injury as a possible criminal incident.

Multiple search warrants have been completed, with multiple items sent to the Nebraska State Patrol Crime Lab in Lincoln with Hall County awaiting analysis and reports on those items. The sheriff’s office says investigations of this scope and caliber include interviews and other evidentiary processes, and can take months to complete.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
