Lexington Well Represented At All Star Games

Ralston-Five members of the ’23 graduating class were recently selected to play in the 2023 Nebraska High School Soccer Senior Showcase to benefit the Special Olympics of Nebraska.   Berniece Garcia, Citlali Prado, and Abellanedad Allen of Lexington all participated in the events on June 2nd at Ralston High School.  

Players are nominated and selected by Nebraska High School Coaches and there are 4 divisions state-wide:  Boys and Girls each have two classes divided into A and B classes.   Class B games were played on Friday June 2nd, girls at 5PM and boys at 7:30.   Class A games were played on Saturday June 3rd, Girls at 5PM, and Boys at 7:30.   

During the Girls Class B action, Berniece Garcia scored a great 30 yard hit to the upper corner of the net for the “light team” or visitors sponsored by Ba-Dra-Mi Farms, earning the team’s lone goal.   Citlali Prado earned an assist for the “dark team” from sending in a corner kick, in which Georgina Valdovinos of South Sioux City headed in the goal.   In the end, the “dark team” or home jerseys won a 3-1 game.   Madalyn Flynn of Elkhorn High and Brook Tejral of Ralston High scored the other two goals for the home team, sponsored by Firehouse Subs…GoalKeeper Zoey Sizemore of Omaha Mercy was determined the game’s MVP.

Lexington boys players Kenneth Morales and Angel Diaz were also selected to play in the Boys B game at 7:30.   Kenneth made an appearance, but Angel Diaz was unable to play due to an injury.
