NORTH PLATTE, NE – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and North Platte Police Department with funding from the U.S Marshal’s Service initiated a Sex Offenders compliance operation within Lincoln County on Tuesday, February 7th.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, twelve two person teams made up of Sheriff’s Deputies and North Platte Police Officers responded to around ninety residences in North Platte.
They reported intentional acts of non-compliance have led to one arrest and several others are currently under investigation. Also at least ten Sex Offenders were ordered to immediately update minor information or be arrested. All offenders complied.
The sheriff’s office stated the goal of the operation is to assure all sex offenders in the county provide accurate and up to date information. The Lincoln County deputies will continue in-home visits to every residence in the county a sex offender is reported to live.
