Longtime Lexington city administrator passes

    Former Lexington City Manager Vance Bricker passed away on Saturday July 30, 2022 at the age of 87.    Bricker joined the City of Lexington as an administrative aid and later as environmental health and recreation director. In August of 1984, he became the personnel director and assistant city manager. He maintained that position until November of 1996, when he became the city manager until 2000 when he retired. 

    Bricker was a native of Paxton and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.   During his lifetime he also worked as a ranch hand, taught chemistry and physics and was an engineer with a technical company.   Bricker is survived by his wife Dorothy and 6 children.

    A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor John Strackbein, officiating.  A Memorial Book Signing will be on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
