The NSAA Boys Class A and B state Tennis tournaments wrapped up on Friday. In Class A, Kearney finished as the state runner up to Lincoln East. Leading Kearney in number one singles was Asher Salsbury who finished 3rd. In number two singles, Huston Cochran was 7th. In number one doubles, Kearney’s Samuel Rademacher and Eli Bond were third, and in number two doubles, Drew Welch and Fisher Bonk placed 8th.
In Class B, McCook won the team title with 50 points, GICC was 3rd, while Lexington was fifth. McCook’s Nathaniel Miller was the state champ in number one singles, Lexington’s Greysen Strauss finished 8th. In number two singles, Lexington’s Noah Scheer was 6th, while McCook’s Kaiden Porter was 8th. In number one doubles, McCook’s duo of Evan Humphrey and Lincoln Michaelis were the state champs. Lexington’s Dru Truax and Topher Swartz were 5th. In number two doubles, Payton Dellevoet and Joel Miller defeated Lexington’s Morgan Bailey and Andres Salinas in the championship match. Kearney Catholic’s Amir Saadi and Nash Malone finished 7th.
