Mike Bernstrauch, 63 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska

Private Memorial Services for W. Mike Bernstrauch will be held at a later date.

Mike Bernstrauch, 63 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska passed away, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at his home in Holdrege. He was born in Lancaster, California on January 9, 1959, the middle of three children, born to Herman W. and Louise Mae (Sherman) Bernstrauch. He received his education from Holdrege Public Schools.

Following his education, Mike began working construction jobs.  On August 28, 1979, Mike was united in marriage to Vicki Alexander in Corpus Christi, Texas.  The couple made their home in Texas, Kansas, and Oregon.   They lived in Loup City, Nebraska, for 13 years before putting their roots down in Holdrege.  They were blessed with four sons:  Ricky, Michael, Rocky, and David.

When he wasn’t working on a project, Mike enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing.  In later years, he enjoyed cooking, colleting football cards, watching football, and metal detecting.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Theresa Bernstrauch; and a daughter-in-law, Kerri Bernstrauch.

Mike is survived by his wife, Vicki Bernstrauch of Holdrege; his four sons:  Ricky, Michael, Rocky, and David, all of Holdrege; nine grandchildren:  Daja Oroso; Alex Oroso; Tre Bernstrauch; Treyton Sohn; Hailey Bernstrauch; Kayleb Sohn; McKennah Heinen; Aryah Bernstrauch; and Lyric Bernstrauch; one great-grandson, Amari; one sister, Liz Pederson and her husband, Lloyd of Gibbon, Nebraska; one brother, Richard Bernstrauch of Axtell, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

There will be no visitation or memorial book signing, the family is honoring Mike’s wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Mike’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
