Mullen Native Ready for Season With Lopers

Kearney-On Thursday night the 14th ranked UNK Football squad starts the season on the road at Missouri Southern. UNK won 10 games last year and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division Two Playoffs. Head coach Josh Lynn returns a number of key players from that team. One them is Defensive End Tell Spies. The native of Mullen says the Lopers are out to keep things rolling.

This off season the Loper coaching staff went out and added some depth along the defensive line and Spies feels that should make the defense even tougher.

Spies was named second team all MIAA last year. Tell has followed in the foot steps of his two older brothers Jake and Tye who were also key members of the Lopers. Thursday’s game from Joplin, Mo kicks off at 7pm and we will bring it to you on 93.1 The River, 106.9 FM in Kearney and on the River APP.
