Nebraska State Patrol is assisting Lexington Police Department in investigating a motor vehicle-pedestrian accident early Saturday morning that resulted in a death.
It was reported at 4:54am at the intersection of South Adams and Oak Streets in southwest Lexington. A 59-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name has not been released.
Lexington Police Chief Tracy Wolf says the driver, 19-year-old Salvador Canales of Lexington, was arrested on suspicion of Motor Vehicle Homicide and Reckless Driving.
Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, Lexington Volunteer Fire Department and Priority Medical assisted at the scene.
