A memorial service and celebration of life for Randal R. Emmons will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hilltop Event Center in Oxford, Nebraska with Mr. David Hunt officiating. The family requests casual attire.

Randal Ray Emmons, 60 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly, on July 11, 2022, in Westminster, Colorado. Randy was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska on October 1, 1961, the second of three children, born to Ronald and Patricia (Chapman) Emmons. He received his education and graduated from Oxford High School, with the class of 1980. Randy pursued higher education and graduated from Chadron State College.

Following his education, Randy owned and operated Jewelry Impressions in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and later was employed as a Conductor for the BNSF Railroad, where he worked until his passing.

On June 20, 2013, Randy was united in marriage to Peggy Wentling in Alma, Nebraska. Randy and Peggy each had two children from previous marriages. The couple made their home in Oxford.

Randy loved his beloved dogs; Budweiser, Booker T, Krissy, Winston, and Sophie. He enjoyed listening to music, singing, playing guitar, reading, playing cards, golfing, hunting and fishing. Randy was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Kansas City Royals; he never missed a game. He loved being the center of attention.

Randy will be remembered for his sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and smile, and his fight to overcome any obstacle.

Randy was preceded in death by, his dad, Ronald Emmons; his son, Ryan Emmons; and his grandparents.

Randy is survived by his wife, Peggy Emmons of Oxford; his daughter, Katie Emmons of Cheyenne; two step-sons: Jared Maruhn; and Cole Maruhn both of Kearney, Nebraska; his mom, Patricia Emmons; two sisters: Kelley Emmons; and Wendy Klein and her husband, Edwin both of Lincoln; two brothers-in-law: Craig Wentling of Oxford; and Scott Wentling of Grand Island, Nebraska; nieces and nephews: Heather Kadlek and her husband, Kurt of Lincoln; Taylor Klein and his wife, Cayle of Tekamah, Nebraska; Brooke Scheitel and her husband, Logan of Rulo, Nebraska; Brendan Wentling and his wife, Karson of Kearney; and Keyin Wentling of Lincoln; and his favorite uncle, Calvin Chapman and his wife, Jan; as well as other relatives, and friends.

Randy’s wishes were to be cremated, there will be no visitation or memorial book signing.

A memorial has been established in Randy’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
