Beaver City, Neb. — A semi-pickup truck crash occurred Monday west of Beaver City at the intersection of Highways 283 & 89. The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office in Beaver City was paged to the crash shortly before 8:00 a.m.
Sheriff Doug Brown says the crash involved a 2006 Kenworth semi that was southbound on Highway 283 and a 2022 Chevrolet pickup that was westbound on Highway 89.
Sheriff Brown said it appeared the pickup, driven by 46 year old Travis Woollen of Alma, failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the semi, driven by 55 year old Raymond Custard of Colby, Kansas. Very little damage was done to the semi. The pickup, driven by Woollen, spun and flipped onto its side, totalling the vehicle.
Beaver City Fire & EMS also responded. Both drivers were checked by Beaver City EMS and neither required transport for injuries. Seat belts were in use by both drivers.
