Two Injured After Three-Vehicle Crash near Grand Island

The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a three vehicle accident on Highway 30 and Gunbarrel Road early Wednesday morning.

The investigation concluded that shortly after 6:00 am, a Ford F150 was traveling eastbound and a Nissan Murano was traveling westbound on Highway 30 and attempted to pass a semi truck in the dense fog when it collided head on with the Ford F150.

The impact caused a secondary collision when the Nissan Murano collided with the trailer of the semi it was attempting to pass.

Driver of the Nissan Murano was transported to a Grand Island hospital due to injuries sustained during the accident. Driver of the Ford F150 received minor injuries and was not transported. Driver of semi was not injured.

Seatbelt was in use by the driver of the Ford F150.

Neither alcohol or drugs are expected.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation and the Grand Island Rural Fire Department and Grand Island Rescue responded to this call.
