The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will meet this Friday, Feb. 10th in Lincoln.
The meeting will lead off with a presentation from Sen. John Arch of La Vista, Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature.
· The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Feedlot Innovation Center celebrated its groundbreaking in November. There will be a presentation on it given by Mike Boehm, vice president and Harlan Vice Chancellor of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Tom Burkey, interim head of the Department of Animal Science; and Galen Erickson, Cattle Industry Professor of Animal Science.
Josie Schafer, director of the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Center for Public Affairs Research, will give a presentation on Workforce and education demographics in Nebraska.
The title of Regent Emeritus will be awarded to Jim Pillen, who resigned his District 3 seat on the Board last month to become Governor of Nebraska. Gov Pillen has appointed Jim Sheer of Norfolk as his replacement for District 3.
· The Regents will consider amendments to the collective bargaining agreement between the Board and the University of Nebraska at Kearney Education Association for the 2023-25 biennium. Under the agreement, eligible UNK faculty will receive 3 percent salary increases each year of the biennium.
