OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Werner Enterprises Inc. (WERN) on Wednesday reported third-quarter earnings of $55.1 million.
The Omaha, Nebraska-based company said it had net income of 86 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 90 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 97 cents per share.
The transportation company posted revenue of $827.6 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $819.8 million.
